Raymond is a quiet little town with a very big personality. It's a place that will surprise you, coming to life before your eyes in ways you didn't anticipate. The town's pulse is driven by the vitality of its people and a long list of events and amenities you'd probably expect to find in a much bigger place. The short story is, Raymond is remarkable - in a way that only a welcoming western-inspired town can be.
You won't run out of things to do here. There's a full calendar of yearly activities and celebrations, and the town has a number of rec centres that host different events all year long.
There are beautiful Bed & Breakfast accommodations in town, but Parrett Park Campground is a great way to enjoy Raymond's great outdoors. Located at the south end of the town's golf course alongside Corner Lake, Parrett Park is the perfect place for those who like to fish, play a quick 9 holes, and enjoy leisurely lakeside strolls.
Rodeo is a way of life in these parts, and Raymond is home to the oldest one in the region. Held every July 1st since 1902 (a full decade before the Calgary Stampede first hit the scene) the Raymond Stampede is a celebration of western culture. Cowboys and cowgirls come from miles around to show off their bronc and bull riding skills, wrangle steers and barrel race.
Be sure to check out the Pioneer Museum when you're in town. It's filled with artifacts that chronicle the lives of those who settled the area. And the major attraction in town is definitely the Raymond Aquatic Centre - an exceptional pool and water park that's fun for the whole family.
