Perched high on a bluff overlooking Waterton Lake and village, the Prince of Wales Hotel stands in grand solitude, embodying the very characteristics that have made it a world renowned destination and one of the most photographed hotels of all time – grandeur, majesty, elegance, and a touch of intrigue that draws people in and ignites their sense of wonder and imagination.
Built between 1926 and 1927 by the Great Northern Railway, the Prince of Wales Hotel is named in honour of the dashing Prince Edward. Known for culinary excellence, breathtaking views, rustic charm and British flair, the hotel offers a variety of guest rooms and suites that range from quaint to opulent in style. Standard guest rooms maintain their 1930s appeal and character, while upscale suites provide luxurious accommodation in a majestic setting.
Be sure you take in afternoon tea while you’re there. It’s served daily with just enough pomp, circumstance, and crumpets and jam to have truly authentic flavour.
