Coaldale

Coaldale is all about community. Over 6,000 people call the town home and a strong sense of service keeps community projects and programs running to the benefit of young and old alike. It is a community where everyone can belong from individuals to young families, from established families to seniors. Coaldale looks after its own and over the years has developed a keen sense of community pride. Businesses, service clubs and churches ll contribute to the community. This sense of pride extends to historical preservation and even tourism. The Gem of the West Museum provides a mosaic of the region’s history and culture which have blended together over the past 100 years to form the heart of the community. Coaldale is also home to the unique and world renown Alberta Birds of Prey Centre. It not only gives visitors a firsthand experience with birds of prey but also helps to care for wounded and abandoned birds while educating the public on the need to preserve natural habitat.
